On March 7, 2014, in the Town of Chenango Court, Ann M. Wood (D.O.B. 6/23/42), was found not guilty of the misdemeanor charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Mrs. Wood was found guilty of three traffic infractions. The allegations were that Mrs. Wood had been intoxicated at the time of an accident in the Town of Chenango. She was arrested by the Broome County Sheriff's Department. The jury trial that started on Thursday morning concluded with the not guilty verdict on the misdemeanor late this morning. The trial was in front of Town of Chenango Justice Clyde Groover Jr.
Mrs. Wood was defended by her attorney, Thomas D. Jackson Jr. of the Law Firm Jackson Bergman, LLP 249 Robinson Street, Binghamton, New York. If convicted of the misdemeanor Mrs. Wood could have been sentenced to up to one year in the Broome County Jail. Mrs. Wood was sentenced by Judge Groover to a one year conditional discharge, and the state mandated surcharges on the three offenses she was found guilty of.
