Professional Experience
I graduated with my Bachelors of Science from Roger Williams University in 2008, focusing my major studies on Criminal Justice and Creative Writing. During my time at Roger Williams I volunteered for the Rhode Island Public Defender's Office, organized and ran several clubs and organizations on campus including our chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, and competed nationally for the Roger Williams Mock Trial team. After school I worked as a legal assistant for a white-collar criminal defense law firm in Albany, New York, where I ultimately decided to attend Albany Law School with the full support of my mentors.
I graduated from Albany Law School in 2012 with my Juris Doctorate, passing the state bar in 2012 and being admitted to New York State in the early months of 2013. During my time at Albany Law School, I continued my volunteer efforts with the Rensselaer County Public Defender's Office and the Albany County District Attorney's Office, as well as organized the law school Rockefeller Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International, and competing with the Albany Law School Mock Trial teams, placing in every competitions alongside my partner. I am a published legal author as part of the New York State Environmental Law Journal.
Upon graduation and after being admitted, I worked as Of Counsel for a prominent criminal defense firm in Albany, the Law Offices of James Long, as well as Of Counsel for Mack & Associates focusing on matrimonial and criminal cases. I then relocated to the western part of the state, and accepted a position at the Cowen Law Firm in Sidney, New York. There I handled criminal cases ranging from simple parking tickets up to Class A felonies, assisting my clients (both appointed and retained) through the criminal process, as well as civil cases alongside my managing partner, Sarah Cowen, Esq.
I began working with Jackson Bergman LLP in September of 2015, where I can bring my experience to a forefront and utilize my skills regarding misdemeanor and felony cases to best represent my clients in and around Broome County.
In my experience I have handled a large variety of cases and have worked with clients from almost every background and situation imaginable. I am currently a member of the Broome County Bar, Delaware County Bar, Otsego County Bar, Chenango County Bar, New York State Bar Association, New York State Defender's Association, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. I look forward to serving my clients to the best of my abilities while at Jackson Bergman.
